- A decision maker may engage two to four options for a proposal, all of which represent the top-tier or best of breed for that field, category, or market. (Nobody ever got fired for buying IBM, as they say. Top-tier solution providers lower perceived downside risk.)
- Outbound strategies are mostly landing on decision makers who aren’t yet ready, or, if by coincidence the timing is right, other solution providers have the inside track and highest credibility with the decision maker.
